When Bad Security Becomes a Productivity Killer

When Bad Security Becomes a Productivity Killer

Most business owners believe that more security naturally means less speed. They accept a clunky user experience because they feel that’s the price of safety. However, this exposes a dangerous paradox: When security is too difficult to use, your team becomes less secure. If it takes ten minutes and three different devices to log in, your employee won’t work harder—they’ll work around you, taking productivity shortcuts that bypass your defenses entirely.

Boost Your Endpoint Security with Managed EDR and Real-Time Threat Detection

Boost Your Endpoint Security with Managed EDR and Real-Time Threat Detection

Unfortunately, when a single compromised workstation is all it takes to let in a ransomware attack, the old standbys of security don’t stand up the way they used to.

Small and medium-sized businesses are prime targets for cybercriminal activity. After all, many don’t have the protections one needs to catch the threats that have already infiltrated their networks… and the risks are far too high to simply hope you can react quickly enough.

Fortunately, modern SMBs aren’t helpless. They have access to endpoint detection and response.

Cybersecurity Doesn’t Have to Be a Horror Story

Cybersecurity Doesn’t Have to Be a Horror Story

Most IT companies try to sell you software by scaring you half to death. I prefer a different approach: straight talk. You don't need a doom and gloom script to understand that the stakes for your business have never been higher.

7 Days to a More Secure Business and Personal Life

7 Days to a More Secure Business and Personal Life

Security is about more than million-dollar firewalls; often, it’s about the small, daily habits that keep small issues from escalating into major problems. Today, the lines between personal and professional lives are blurrier than ever, and a compromised personal device could also mean access to an entire corporate network.

Why Patching Later is No Longer an Option

Why Patching Later is No Longer an Option

For decades, the cybersecurity industry has operated on a comfortable, if flawed, assumption: finding a Zero-Day vulnerability (a bug unknown to the developers) was a Herculean task. It required elite human developers and ethical hackers, months of manual code review, and high-cost developer tools. This friction gave defenders a grace period—a window of time where obscurity acted as a shield.

That era officially ended on April 6, 2026.

Security Compliance is Mandatory for Cyber Insurance

Security Compliance is Mandatory for Cyber Insurance

The digital makeup of almost every business has shifted significantly over the past couple of years. Cyber insurance was once an optional add-on; in 2026, it is a requirement for corporate governance. It is no longer a simple transaction where you pay a premium and transfer your risk.

How to Survive a Total Ransomware Lockout

How to Survive a Total Ransomware Lockout

Imagine the terror of arriving at the office only to find every screen glowing with the same cryptic message: "Your files are encrypted." If you’re like most business owners, this kind of situation could set you back weeks, and that’s not to mention the financial setback and permanent data loss that could occur as a result of such a ransomware attack. What your business needs is resilience, the kind that only immutable backups can offer.

3 Ways to Turn Your Tech Stack Into a Growth Engine

3 Ways to Turn Your Tech Stack Into a Growth Engine

For years, the firewall was seen purely as a defensive tool—an all-in-one solution with antivirus, web filtering, and intrusion protection. Nowadays, they can potentially serve a much greater purpose beyond simple network security. When leveraged right, you can use the immense amount of data firewalls track to identify bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and make smarter infrastructure investments.

Building a Security-First Cloud-Hybrid Backup Plan

Building a Security-First Cloud-Hybrid Backup Plan

Building a business is hard work, but protecting it shouldn’t be. When people talk about business technology, they usually focus on the flashy stuff: new computers, faster software, or sleek gadgets. But there is a massive difference between technology that looks cool and technology that actually works when things go wrong.

The most important question any business owner can ask is: If my office caught fire or my systems were hacked tomorrow, could my business survive?

The 30-Day Guide to Security-First Onboarding

The 30-Day Guide to Security-First Onboarding

When it comes to onboarding, every business owner knows that the first days, weeks, and months are the most critical. As If We All Didn’t Have Enough to Worry About: Let’s Look at Killware

blog-image-kill-ware

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when it comes to cybersecurity threats it’s kind of hard not to be. I used to look at it from two sides; one side is fascinated at the innovation and intensely brutal ways that high-end cyberattacks work, and the other side of me loses sleep at night worrying about these risks affecting our clients, prospects, and even my own business. This one particular classification of cyberattack, however, takes the cake for being especially frightening.

Prioritize Your Cybersecurity Hygiene

blog-image-cybersecurity-hygiene

Bad habits can have detrimental effects on your overall life. For example, if every night at four in the morning, you snuck into the kitchen to eat a few spoonfuls of uncooked Pillsbury Cookie Dough right out of the tube from the back of the refrigerator, you’d probably be doing more harm than good to your health without really getting that much enjoyment out of the act. Cybersecurity bad habits might save you a few seconds of time each day, but they can come back to bite you.

Ignoring cybersecurity best practices is about as useful as getting good at hiding that Pillsbury Cookie Dough wrapper in the bottom of the trash so nobody realizes it’s gone.

All joking aside, you are personally responsible for your own cybersecurity, and keeping yourself safe online, whether that be at home with your personal accounts, or at work, is extremely important. It doesn’t take a lot of effort either, it just takes good habits.

Let’s go over a few things you can do to save yourself from a lot of headaches down the road.
